Everyday Average Girl Seeking Ftiness and Nutrition

Hi, I'm Courtney. I am your everyday average twenty something girl who is on a mission to find fitness and nutrition. I work a full-time and a part-time job, so finding time for me is never an easy thing, so why would fitness or nutrition? I live with my fabulous and loving boyfriend, who is a personal trainer. It's actually how we met. Fitness and nutrition have always been a part of his life and come naturally to him. So you'd think it would just rub off on me. Wrong! Fitness and nutrition have never come easy to me and I am always trying some sort of new diet or exercise regime. I am very in to social media and reading about the latest "it" thing. Whether it is the it song, the it couple or the it workout - I am all over it. MyLifeMyBody has given me the perfect marriage of my love for social media with my desire to find fitness and nutrition. This blog gives me an outlet to learn about the new it things when it comes to fitness and nutrition and also gives me a way to chat about what I'm doing. In my blog you will find motivational thoughts, new things that I've found that work and also my 30 Fit Challenge. 30 days of eating right and working out at least 30 minutes a day. You will see my ups, my downs, my temptations (beer and cupcakes. not together,) and my struggles with weight loss. I'm very candid and write how I talk. But then again, I'm just your everyday average girl... seeking fitness and nutrition, of course. Enjoy! ;)

30 Day Fit Challenge: Day 23

Day 23 is here. Day 30 is right around the corner and I have lost 4 pounds. I am done saying ONLY because 4 pounds is still an accomplishment. I am going to continue to track my food consumption and workout for at least 30 minutes a day. I am feeling better about myself and I really think that my clothes are fitting better. Weight loss is a journey and I have committed myself to success. No matter how long it takes! :)

For breakfast I had:

  • 3 scoops of protein powder in a shake: 3 WW points
  • Total for breakfast: 3 WW points / 22 WW points left for the day

It is my girlfriend at work's birthday, so we decided to go out to lunch. We went to an AWESOME Italian bistro and all got really yummy salads. Since I hadn't had a lot of points today, I decided that I could have something really delicious. For lunch I had:

  • iced tea: 1 WW point
  • Shrimp Caesar Salad: (350 calories, 12g of fat, 4 g of fiber, 32g of carbs) 7 WW points
  • 1 slice of bread: 2 WW points
  • Total for lunch: 10 WW points / 12 WW points left for the day

30 Day Fit Challenge: Day 19

It's Day 19 and I am still only down 4 pounds! UGH! I am eating right and exercising but still not losing the weight. But I am still on board with this and still determined. My co-worker from Tucson was up here yesterday and we decided that we are going to help one another. Her name is Courtney too and she wants to lose about as much weight as I do. It always helps to have a friend on board with your diet and fitness regime. Too bad she lives in Tucson! Haha.  We decided that we are going to BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) each other on our success and when we want to eat something bad. Good thing for constant communication!

30 Day Fit Challenge: Day 18

I had a great day of exercise and ate perfectly yesterday and I still didn't move the scale. Still down 4 pounds, but with only 13 days left and 6 pounds to go, I need to be on my game! Today I am going to stay motivated and keep on track. Whether I am moving the needle on the scale or not, I am still looking and feeling better and that's what ultimately matters. I would love to drop the weight - and I am still dedicated to do so - but getting healthier is the most important!

We had a meeting early this morning with the new Chief Marketing Officer, so it was a much needed coffee morning. For breakfast I had:

30 Day Fit Challenge: Day 17

I can't believe that I am half way done with this fit challenge! I knew that it would be hard to lose 10 pounds in 30 days, but it just came off in the beginning and made me think that it would be so easy. I think that lead to me to not make the best choices and not follow my diet and exercise plan as well as I should have. Well, let's make one thing clear, losing weight is not easy. It didn't take one day to put it on, so it sure as hell isn't going to come off in a day either. It takes time, focus and a clear commitment to your goals.

  • 3 egg whites: 1 WW point
  • 2 cups of black coffee with splenda: 0 WW points
  • Total for breakfast: 1 WW point / 24 WW points left for the day

What I had for lunch:

  • 6-inch Subway meatball sub on wheat:  (560 cal/24 g fat/7 g fiber/63 g carbs) 12 WW points
  • Total for lunch: 12 WW points / 12 WW points left for the day

What I had for snack:

  • 1 apple: 2 WW points
  • 11 almonds: 2 WW points
  • Total for snack: 4 WW points / 8 WW points left for the day
What I had for dinner:
  • 1 chicken breast: 3 WW points
  • tomatoes: 0 WW points
  • 1/4 cup of guacamole: 2 WW points
  • 12 tortilla chips: 3 WW points
  • Total for dinner: 8 WW points / Perfect diet day! :)
I had a great workout today too. I did 15 minutes on the elliptical and then did a 60-minute spin class. The instructor honestly kicked my butt! I love to take spin classes because it involves high intensity cardio with leg toning.
Today was a good day that made up for a lousy weekend. I had to work all weekend so I wasn't able to track my eating and honestly didn't even have good choices to make from. Today is Monday and I will stay on track this week. I must! I am half way through my month and less than half way to my goal. Here's to a great week!

30 Day Fit Challenge: Day 13

Why does the weight come off in the first week and then not come off in the second? I even gained a pound and THAT hasn't come off. Well, 4 pounds in 13 days is still good, but it is leaving me wanting more. So after I weighed myself this morning, I was disappointed that I had worked out and ate right this week and still have only shed 4 pounds!

So for breakfast, I went to AJ's to get a bagel and an iced tea. It is a nice Friday treat and fills me up for a long time! So I figured, why not, it's not like I am not going to go to the gym tonight! So I had:

30 Day Fit Challenge: Day 12

It is Day 12 and I am in a boatload of pain. Andrew and I did a great workout last night at the gym and my whole body is screaming at me today. My triceps from the ball throw, my butt from the kettlebell swings and squat jumps, my back hurts from... something! But it is that good pain - the one where you know that you had a good workout. The kind that keep me motivated. That is the name of the game right!? :)

I GAINED A POUND!!! WHAT??? How absolutely terrible is that??!! I am so pissed. But if I look back on some of the things that I ate yesterday, well, no kidding I gained a pound. I need to use this as motivation, not discouragement. And I need to make better choices and really think about what I am putting in to my mouth because it is showing up on the scale... and in my behind.

30 Day Fit Challenge: Day 10

It's Day 10 of the 30 Day Fit Challenge. It is most certainly getting easier to make decisions when it comes to food and easier to say, yes, let's go workout! Continuing motivation will continue success. I have a busy day today, so let's get down to those points!

For breakfast, I had:

30 Day Fit Challenge: Day 9

The first week of the 30 Day Fit Challenge is done and I am down 5 lbs! I am feeling more energetic and my pants are certainly fitting a little better. I am motivated to keep going and already think that I will continue the Fit Challenge another 30 Days! I am already half-way to my goal, but I know that the last 5 lbs will be much tougher to take off that the first 5. This means that to reach my goal of 10 lbs in one month, I need to take it up a notch. Yes, I have lost 5 lbs, but no, I have not eaten all that well. Sonic, french fries, flavored coffee, pizza... gross! But the best part of Weight Watchers is that you can eat your favorite foods, as long as you stay within your points. I pledge that I am going to stick to it this week and meet my exercise goals. Today is Monday and I am going to hit the mountain after work and go for a hike! :)

This morning, I just had a quick breakfast, as I had lots of meetings. For breakfast I had:
